The next presidential primary debate is tonight and we will be watching closely to see if the candidates speak about one of the most pressing issues facing our country right now: gun violence.

In the last debate, there wasn't a single question at all about gun violence. Something that nearly 40,000 Americans lose their lives to every year.

Voters want answers to this crisis -- and they deserve to hear more from these candidates about how they are going to protect our communities from this violence.

We need your help to elect a President and a Congress that are willing to stand up to the NRA and pass safer gun laws. That's why we're asking you directly:

America is the only industrialized country in the world with a gun violence crisis, and if we want to change that we need to elect leaders who will fight for us and not the gun lobby.

We made a major first step when we voted in a historic gun safety majority in the House.

Now we must continue that work so that the Senate and White House reflect our desire to make our communities safer from gun violence.
