It’s happening, friend! California is transitioning to an electric vehicle future. The state is banning the sale of gas-powered cars by 2035. But to make that transition, we need to figure out how Californians will be able to afford electric vehicles and make sure we have enough charging stations. That’s why we need to pass Prop 30, the Clean Air Initiative on the statewide ballot in November. Prop 30 will raise up to $45 billion to make clean vehicles more affordable and $35 billion to expand charging and fueling infrastructure up and down the state, plus $20 billion for extreme wildfire prevention and suppression for good measure. Friend, Prop 30 is a necessary tool to fight the climate crisis, Read all about it here >> Passing Prop 30 will create a statewide electric vehicle charging network, help millions afford a clean car, decrease catastrophic wildfires, and improve our collective health by reducing emissions and improving air quality. As excited as we are by the federal Inflation Reduction Act and newly passed state budget, they are a drop in the bucket compared to Prop 30. By taxing just annual incomes over $2 million, Prop 30 will invest in making electric vehicles MORE AFFORDABLE and charging and fueling stations MORE ACCESSIBLE. And half of these investments are required to go to low-income and disadvantaged communities! California is mandating a cleaner vehicle future; Prop 30 ensures all Californians can participate. It’s no wonder that a growing majority of Californians support Prop 30. EnviroVoters is joined by a diverse coalition that includes firefighters, environmental justice warriors, business leaders, working families, and the California Democratic Party. And the San Francisco Chronicle just endorsed Prop 30 too! A YES vote on Prop 30 is a YES for a cleaner, healthier, and greener California. Please join us in voting YES by November 8. |
