The consequences following the overturn of Roe v. Wade are being felt all across the country. We’re already hearing stories of women and young girls being forced to carry dangerous and potentially life-threatening pregnancies to term against their will.
Some in California may think they have nothing to worry about, but here’s the blunt truth about this ruling: If the GOP takes the House, Kevin McCarthy and his far-right loyalists will try to put up a bill criminalizing abortion in all 50 states.
In an interview following the overturning of Roe, Kevin McCarthy claimed that “in less than 140 days things are gonna change here,” and that the GOP’s work is “far from done.”
McCarthy isn’t mincing words, John. He’s saying point blank that if Republicans retake Congress, abortion rights are on the chopping block -- and not even blue states will be safe.
