Not only is this a cruel nightmare for the baby birds who will be terrorized and killed, but it is a dangerous public health threat. Kaporos is essentially a wet market, like the wet market where Covid-19 originated, and poses a serious risk of spreading the current bird flu virus which is decimating birds worldwide and could at any moment mutate into a global human pandemic.
