Fridays are when politicians and campaigns release news they think may be controversial. They put it out at the end of the week in the hopes that it gets lost over the weekend and no one brings it up again.

Well, folks, last Friday Attorney General Jason Miyares announced an "Election Integrity Unit" that will run out of his office. These so-called “Election Integrity Units” have been announced across the country by election deniers and insurrectionists active in the GOP. The Democratic Party of Virginia runs an actual Voter Protection Program every year, but we’ve never had to contest with something like this. Our hotline and poll observers are critical to fighting voter suppression from the right and ensuring that every eligible Virginian can cast a ballot.
