Dear John,
The Senate returned from summer recess last week, and have already taken action on putting well qualified, diverse judges on the bench. Senator Schumer filed cloture on the nominations of Salvador Mendoza, Jr. and Arianna J. Freeman, and the Senate moved to confirm three federal judicial nominees.
Last week the Senate confirmed:
- Andre Mathis to United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit
- Jennifer Rearden to United States District Judge for the Southern District of New York
- John Lee to United States Circuit Judge for the Seventh Circuit
President Biden has also announced his 26th round of judicial nominees, his 13th slate of nominations in 2022. This slate brings his total number of announced federal judicial nominees to 143.
President Biden continues to prioritize making our nation’s courts reflect the diversity of the country, and the Senate must keep the momentum and move to confirm these judges. Sign our petition asking the Senate to fill every judicial vacancy before the end of 2022 at [link removed]
Thank you for taking action,
