Jack, if you need more proof that the health of our democracy is on the ballot this November, just look at the number of election deniers that are running for office in the fall elections.
According to FiveThirtyEight, of the 529 Republican nominees on the ballot for the House, Senate, governor, secretary of state or attorney general this fall, 258 GOP candidates either fully deny or question the results of the 2020 presidential election.
This is a big f*cking deal.
While Republicans look to overturn elections, we are fighting back by turning out voters. You can help us protect our democracy by supporting Daily Kos' Get Out the Vote campaign with a donation of $5.

Only 73 Republicans running for the House, Senate, governor, secretary of state or attorney general fully accept the results of the 2020 election. Overall, 60% of Americans will have an election denier on the ballot this November.
Important to note, FiveThirtyEight tracked Republican nominees running for Congress, governor, secretary of state, and attorney general because those are all positions that either certify election results, pass election laws, or oversee how our elections are run and votes are counted.
Diving deeper into their data, the majority of election deniers running for the House are in seats that are considered "strong Republican," in other words, there is a 95% chance that a Republican will be elected to that seat. However, this goes beyond just deep red seats held by backbenchers: The Republican nominees for governor in key swing states like Arizona and Pennsylvania sought to undermine the election results, and are now vying to be in a position to certify the electoral votes in those states.
This is a direct threat to our democracy. There is no doubt that if more of these Trump Big Lie believers get elected to office, they will use every bit of their power to undermine our future elections and destroy the foundations of our democracy.
That's why Daily Kos is working hard to recruit 75,000 volunteers to contact millions of undecided and infrequent voters in 2022–twice the amount of volunteers we recruited in the 2018 midterm elections. We are already halfway there, too! We are stepping up our game because we need to turnout every single possible Democratic voter to protect our democracy. Can help our Get Out the Vote campaign by donating $5 right now?
