Oh I wish it could be the 70th anniversary of National Parks everyday
Monday 16th of December marked the day the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 achieved Royal Assent 70 years ago. This has been something Campaign for National Parks has been celebrating all year with various projects and campaigns.

Writing for History Today, Corinne Pluchino, the Chief Executive of Campaign for National Parks writes: “It was a pivotal piece of legislation for the conservation movement, but it is often forgotten that it was also an integral part of the reconstruction programme after the Second World War, sitting alongside health, housing, education and the welfare state.”
