Hi,

Fifty years ago, the planet was in terrible shape—smog-choked the air, trash-filled streets and rivers were so polluted that they literally caught fire.

In 1970, we fought to do something about it. On April 22, 1970, we turned out 20 million people to the streets to demand protections for our planet. This became the world’s first Earth Day. The wave of change that followed created the Clean Air, Clean Water and Endangered Species Acts.

But now, the planet is in peril again, facing history's greatest challenge: climate change. It’s time for us to rise up together to meet this crisis head-on.

That’s why for the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, we’ll unite to mobilize more than a billion people worldwide.

Earth Day 50—April 22, 2020—will catalyze a new movement demanding action on climate now.

Will you support the next wave of environmental activism?

This job can’t wait! We need world leaders to act now to curb the effects humans have wrought on our planet. Sustainable clean energy solutions must be adopted on a global scale. We must sever from the fossil fuel-based economy that's destroying our ecosystem. Our lives depend on it.

Earthday.org is bringing together an intergenerational movement to mobilize the world on April 22, 2020. Together, we’ll sound an alarm that cannot be ignored.

Be part of the action. Make Earth Day 2020 the global turning point on climate change.

The world needs some heroes now. Make one of them be you.

For action,

Denis Hayes
