Madeleine Dean for Congress

Dear Friend:

Our democracy is a matter of conscience, and my duty to uphold our framers’ vision for our nation is grounded in our Constitution.

I hope people can separate politics from what we've been called to do, and we as a nation can begin to heal. It will be a challenge, but I know that as a member of Congress, I've been entrusted and called to uphold our Constitution and preserve our democracy — that’s why I voted to impeach President Trump.

Now, the fate of impeachment lies with the Senate, and Senator Mitch McConnell has made it clear he is not “an impartial juror”.

If you agree that Senators must fairly assess the facts and do their due diligence to this country and to our democracy during these impeachment proceedings, stand with me and add your name to mine.

The facts are uncontested. President Trump withheld essential military aid to Ukraine in exchange for help with his 2020 re-election. Then, when he was caught, he refused to cooperate with our constitutional role of oversight, effectively declaring himself above the law.

This is not about punishment, politics, or hate. It’s about protecting this country and our precious Constitution. No one wishes to be where we are today — but it is where we are called to be.

We depend on our Constitution — and it depends on us.

Send a message to Senators that the time for action is now.

Sincerely,

Mad Dean
