Thanks to the tireless advocacy of our progressive coalition, the President canceled student loan debt, delivering necessary relief to 43 million borrowers.

Republicans know how big this victory is. Now they want to go to COURT to stop student debt cancellation. Seriously? The GOP will go to any length to block necessary relief for everyday people.

Working Americans are struggling every day under the weight of ever-growing student loan debt, the high cost of healthcare, and skyrocketing rent and housing prices. In the richest country in the world, there is no reason why 43 million Americans should be burdened with debt.

That’s why the Congressional Progressive Caucus worked for months on end with advocates from labor unions, civil rights organizations, and policy groups to push for real action on student debt. And we won.

With any victory, there is backlash, and we all know that the GOP plays dirty. So we must be prepared to protect this historic action through the midterm elections and after – no matter who gets elected this fall.
