Gun Owners of America uncovered a disturbing secret plot…

John,

As if you needed another reason to distrust the FBI…

Gun Owners of America has uncovered that the FBI has apparently been secretly pressuring Americans to sign a form which forces them to surrender their Second Amendment rights.

I recently wrote an op-ed for the Daily Caller to bring national attention to this deeply troubling report that MUST be investigated by Congress.

Now I need YOUR help to call on the House and Senate to immediately launch an investigation into this latest abuse of power by the FBI.

Please add your name to our pre-written letter to urge your Representative and Senators to hold the FBI accountable for this abuse of power.

ADD YOUR NAME

The FBI was able to get away with this dystopian attack on innocent Americans’ rights by using the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).

The FBI’s NICS system is supposed to screen out people who are prohibited from purchasing a firearm based on conviction records and adjudicated mental health issues — although it does this job very poorly.

That’s why the FBI has attempted to expand its dragnet to locate and disarm Americans before they can commit a crime, as was done in the movie Minority Report. Thankfully, Gun Owners of America found out about this insidious plot.

Beginning in 2019, a copy of a secret form was leaked to GOA, which prompted us to file a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the FBI.

The FBI tried to block our investigation, so we were forced to sue for compliance with our requests.

What we ended up learning was chilling: the FBI had created a “Self-Indices Form” that pressured citizens suspected by federal agents of having mental disorders or exhibiting violent behavior to add themselves into the NICS system, thereby disqualifying themselves from ever owning a firearm.

In some instances, FBI agents showed up at citizens’ homes to get them to sign away their God-given right to keep and bear arms.

The federal government will assure you that these citizens “voluntarily” surrendered their Second Amendment rights…

But when a group of armed agents of the federal government come banging on your door to encourage you to sign a document, is it really “voluntary?”

As Robert Olson, who serves as outside counsel for GOA, said, “we’re into a pre-crime, Minority Report type of world where the FBI believes it can take constitutional rights away from anyone it thinks possibly might pose a threat in the future.”

This tyrannical Minority Report style of “justice” is not foreign to the federal government.

Many GOA members will recall that Biden’s first nominee for ATF Director, David Chipman, said that citizens who fail background checks to purchase guns would establish the “perfect opportunity to arrest people BEFORE committing crimes.”

Of course, the FBI’s NICS system is so flawed that 95% of initial denials are “false positives.” This means the FBI is mostly stopping people who should never be denied. So arresting good people, as David Chipman desires, would only add insult to injury!

That’s why we’re also calling on Congress to REPEAL the underlying NICS that enabled this gross abuse of power to take root in the first place.

GOA has a record of opposing the NICS since its inception, because we always knew that such a system is ripe for abuse.

With the FBI’s corruption currently in the national spotlight, NOW is the time to get Congress to hold investigations and hold all guilty parties accountable.

So please, add your name to our pre-written letter to urge your Representative and Senators to investigate the FBI – and to REPEAL the NICS that enabled FBI agents to coerce citizens into surrendering their Second Amendment rights.
