Ring Nation, a new America’s Funniest Home Videos-esque show featuring Amazon Ring footage, is still slated to premiere at the end of this month. This isn’t the plot to Black Mirror, this is real! We’ve spoken out against Amazon’s surveillance and, now, we’ve released a petition to make our voices heard— sign here!
Let’s be clear. Ring is not family-friendly. We can’t let MGM masquerade this privacy-violating surveillance tool as a form of entertainment.
Amazon Ring partners with over 2,000 local police departments, and allows cops to gain access to footage via its neighborhood surveillance app, Neighbors. Police partnerships are so financially beneficial to Ring that the corporation allows cops to bypass Neighbors entirely and get direct access to footage without user knowledge or judicial review.
Amazon harms our people and our communities. Join us and tell MGM to cancel Ring Nation immediately.
