John,
Last week, protestors gathered at Newport Beach’s Back Bay calling for the infamous “Steel Fence” to be taken down.
If you’re not up to speed on this issue, let me catch you up:
Three months ago, the Orange County Grand Jury exposed that while sitting on the County Board of Supervisors, Michelle Steel tried to push the sale of protected parkland in Newport Beach’s Back Bay Reserve to one of her wealthy campaign donors for pennies on the dollar.
The corrupt land deal was stopped, but Steel’s donor put a fence around the public parkland anyways.
Despite the Grand Jury’s order calling the fence a violation of the Coastal Act, Steel's donor has refused to take down the fence. Instead, the donor is threatening the County with litigation.
My opponent has yet to respond or take any accountability. In fact, the same day community members gathered in protest, Michelle Steel was at a fundraiser hosted by the same campaign donor who tried to buy this parcel of land!
Enough is enough. We need a representative who will put the people first – not their wealthy donors. That’s why I have to ask:
We have less than 30 days to earn voters’ support before they receive ballots. Will you chip in $3 right now to help flip this seat and fight back against corruption?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Michelle continues to live up to her nickname of “Orange County’s most corrupt politician,” but together we can stop her.
- Jay
