This year, with your extraordinary support, Earthjustice lawyers were in court fighting for our planet — and winning. Here’s a look back at one major victory for an endangered species.

When the Trump administration endangered the North Atlantic right whale — one of Earth’s rarest creatures — by opening nearly 3,000 square miles of previously protected marine waters to fishing gear known to entangle, injure, and kill right whales, we took the administration to court. A federal court ruled in our favor and found that the Trump administration had violated the Endangered Species Act. With only about 400 North Atlantic right whales left, this victory was essential for ensuring their survival.
