Hi John,
Last week on Labor Day, our president, Jamal Abdi, announced that NIAC management has voluntarily recognized the NIAC Workers Union! We wanted to follow up with you and provide some more information on this step forward for our organization.

In
many
cases,
unions
are
a
lifeline
to
everyday,
working
people,
and
they
need
our
backing.
It’s
crucial
that
folks
in
political
advocacy
work
value
collective
organizing.

The
IBEW
is
an
American
labor
union
that
represents
approximately
775,000
members
who
work
in
a
wide
variety
of
fields,
including
utilities,
construction,
telecommunications,
broadcasting,
and
government.
We are proud to be joining a global movement of workers across all industries and sectors, and the ranks of other unionized nonprofits like J-Street and Human Rights Campaign.
We look forward to collaborating with management in service of NIAC’s pro-peace and pro-diplomacy founding spirit and mission as we celebrate NIAC’s 20th anniversary this year.
We are optimistic that, through our labor union, we can work together to build a brighter future for our organization that will continue for another 20 years and more.
Thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
NIAC Workers Union
