Hey friend, I wanted to reach out to share a little about myself and why I’m running to represent IL-13 in Congress. I hope you’ll take a moment to read this note, but if you’re already with me, will you pitch in $10 right now to join my grassroots team?
I was born in Peoria, Illinois. Growing up, my parents taught me the value of family, community, and service to others. My grandpa, a union painter, and my grandma, a public school teacher, are the reason I’ve spent my entire career fighting for other hardworking people like them. As a labor activist, I’ve fought for firefighters, grocery store workers, and meat packers, and I helped lead the charge to pass a $15 minimum wage in Illinois. Illinois working families are struggling, and there’s still so much work to be done. That’s why I’m running – to take this fight to Congress and make sure their voices are heard. With fewer than two months left, we have a tough road ahead of us, team. We can win this race, but only if we have the full strength of our grassroots team behind us. That’s why I’m asking: Will you pitch in $3, $10, or more today so I can continue to advocate for working families in Congress?
Thank you, Nikki
