Believe it or not, some people are ALREADY getting their ballots for November’s elections. Absentee ballots started hitting mailboxes in some states last week.
Are you eligible to vote by mail? The requirements and the deadlines vary from state to state. You can check your state’s requirements and request your own ballot over on Vote.org [[link removed]] .

BNC Reps fighting back on Manchin’s #DirtyDeal
If you thought Joe Manchin’s sudden support for the sweeping climate legislation in the Inflation Reduction Act was too good to be true – you were correct.
Senator Coal Baron has once again extracted his pound of carbon profits in exchange for his vote by making a dirty deal with Chuck Schumer to enrich his fossil fuel donors.
Disguised as “permitting reform” and slipped into the upcoming omnibus spending bill, Manchin’s deal will actually deregulate and accelerate permits for new fossil fuel projects like offshore drilling and pipelines.
But House Democrats aren’t taking this lying down. A shockingly broad coalition of more than 70 House Democrats – including BNC representatives – signed a letter to Speaker Pelosi pressuring her to leave the provision out of the upcoming omnibus vote.

This revolt against corporate-friendly, establishment politics is further proof that progressive values are WINNING in Washington, and our BNC representatives are driving the dialogue.

Welcome to the slate Maxwell Alejandro Frost!
Last week we unveiled the first of several big announcements with Maxwell Frost joining the BNC Slate.
We are excited about this announcement after being in close communication with Maxwell’s team for months.
Maxwell is a gun violence survivor, a civil rights activist, a community organizer, an Uber driver, and – after winning last month’s primary – he is now the Democratic nominee for Florida’s 10th congressional district.

Maxwell is set to become the first member of Gen Z elected to Congress, and the youngest person of color ever elected to federal office.
Last week’s announcement also means we just doubled the BNC Florida caucus. Maxwell was one of the first to congratulate Sheila on winning her special election this last January, and we’re excited to see him join all of our BNC representatives in Congress next year.
