Excerpt: A new analysis by the Center for Immigration Studies of data collected by the U.S. government in the first half of 2022 shows that not only is immigration up from Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and South America, but immigration from the rest of the world has declined. As a result, 2022 is the first time since 2006 that the government’s Current Population Survey (CPS) shows more than half of new legal and illegal immigrants came from this part of the world.

A program that keeps diverting its resources to various new categories of people (including those who want, but do not necessarily need, to come to the United States) is overlooking real refugees in real need of resettlement.
