** LOOKING BACK AT BALLOTPEDIA’S 2019 BRIEFINGS
------------------------------------------------------------

We’ve had a busy year at Ballotpedia!

As we approach the end of 2019, I took a look back at our most popular briefings during the year. I've been lucky enough to host webinars regarding redistricting, supreme court cases, the state of the presidential race, key ballot measures, and more! We’re so happy at Ballotpedia to have the honor to serve as a helpful guide in your political information consumption. Check out this page ([link removed]) and sign up for its alerts to stay on top of all of our briefing events.

I’ve highlighted five briefings that were the most popular with our viewers, and included a link to the recording so you can catch the ones you might have missed (or want to watch again):

OCTOBER 9, 2019 - LOOKING AHEAD AT REDISTRICTING
[Redistricting]

This briefing broke down recent court and legislative decisions regarding partisan gerrymandering, independent redistricting commissions, and the 2020 census ahead of next year’s redistricting.

APRIL 15, 2019 - BALLOTPEDIA INSIGHTS WITH JEFF ROE AND JEFF HEWITT
[Insights]
Our Director of Outreach, Sarah Rosier, hosted this fascinating Ballotpedia Insights session with national campaign experts Jeff Roe and Jeff Hewitt. They discussed political strategy and what it takes to run a successful campaign, with lots of examples from their own experiences and careers. This briefing was so good, I’ve watched it several times from beginning to end!

JUNE 26, 2019 - UNION MEMBERSHIP ONE YEAR AFTER _JANUS_
[Union membership]
Just after the one year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s ruling in _Janus v. AFSCME ([link removed]) _, we took a deep dive into how that case impacted public-sector unions across the United States. In _Janus_, the nation’s highest court held that public sector unions cannot require non-member employees to pay agency fees covering the costs of non-political union activities. This briefing analyzed the effect of that decision on public-sector union membership and financial data from state to state.

SEPTEMBER 25, 2019 - LOOKING AHEAD TO 2020’S BALLOT MEASURES
[Ballot measures briefing]
In this webinar, I sat down with Josh Altic from our ballot measures team to discuss the ballot measures that have already been certified for 2020 ballots, the most notable measures likely to be certified in the months ahead, and the key trends and topics he’s looking out for next year.
