Folks,
Dr. Jerrilyn here. I’m proud to be Chris’ wife, a momma to our three girls, and an Air Force combat veteran.
I wanted to reach out to you today, on the 21st anniversary of the devastating September 11th attacks.
It’s a day I’ll never forget. Our eyes were glued to the news as the planes hit the towers, and Chris and I frantically called our friends in the New York area to make sure they were safe. Little did I know, I would later leave for active duty in Afghanistan to protect my country against future attacks.
As a Medical Director and Air Force veteran, I know firsthand the challenges that veterans face in accessing the health services, housing, and career support they need. Our military heroes serve on the frontlines to protect our people and defend our freedoms. They deserve a real leader in the governor’s office who will fight for their rights.
Chris was my rock throughout my deployment and upon my return, and he knows the struggles veterans like us are facing (trust me, he’s heard an earful).
That’s why Chris has a brilliant plan to better support our Arkansas veterans:
✓ Chris will partner with local organizations to support veteran career development,
✓ Chris will work to end veteran homelessness and increase access to housing,
✓ Chris will ensure that the Department of Veterans Affairs is well-resourced,
✓ Chris will increase education around accessing veterans services,
✓ Chris will fight to protect voting rights for veterans.
To put it simply: I know we can count on Chris to stand by Arkansan veterans and deliver them a better future.
Today, Chris and I are thinking of the victims, the survivors, their loved ones, all the first responders and service members who served so bravely, and everything we need to do to better support them.
We appreciate you,
Dr. Jerrilyn Jones
