Dear John,
On this day 21 years ago, our nation experienced a tragedy that we must never forget. Thousands of innocent people were killed in attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Stonycreek Township, Pennsylvania. Today, we grieve for each and every one of them.
We hold moments of solemn reflection for the families who lost loved ones, for the members of our community who still suffer health consequences, and to the countless lives changed forever by terrorism and war.
We also express our profound gratitude for the first responders who defined bravery and sacrifice, and for the essential workers who stepped up to help New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington return to life after devastation.
I know this anniversary hits close to home for many of us. If you’re struggling today, please know that I am thinking of you and sending my wishes for peace and light.
Together in unity, tolerance, and strength,
Patty Pansing Brooks
