John,
Many of us recall exactly where we were or exactly what we were doing when the twin towers fell twenty-one years ago today, on September 11, 2001.
That feeling of pain, shock, and loss is not something you can ever forget.
But, in the face of this unimaginable pain, Americans came together in support of one another.
In New York City, brave firefighters, police officers, EMTs, doctors, and first responders risked their own lives to save the lives of others. Elsewhere across the country, communities united to lean on one another through seemingly insurmountable pain and fear. So, while I’ll always remember the sense of grief, I’ll never forget the patriotism and resilience displayed across America.
Today, as we commemorate the anniversary of these horrific attacks, I hope you’ll honor the bravery and heroism of first responders and men and women in uniform across the country – some of whom made the ultimate sacrifice 21 years ago today. We are forever indebted to their service.
In remembrance,
Emilia
