John,
Today, our country commemorates the 21st anniversary of the worst terrorist attack in our nation's history.
On that awful morning in 2001, every American stopped in their tracks, stunned by the horrific news of attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Flight 93. We feared for the safety of our loved ones, our fellow Americans, and our country. It left an indelible scar on all of our hearts.
Every Sept. 11, we solemnly remember the tragedy that took nearly 3,000 lives. We will never forget – and we will continue to honor the brave first responders who paid the ultimate sacrifice to save others.
The memory of the lives we lost in the 9/11 terrorist attacks will never fade. Instead of giving into fear, we aspire to emulate courage and selflessness as demonstrated by the victims of that fateful day. In this way, their legacy lives on in us forever.
Let us stand united in remembrance.
