John,
The attacks on September 11, 2001 left an indelible mark on our country. Even after twenty-one years, many of us can still feel the pain and grief we experienced all those years ago. No matter how many years pass, September 11th will always be a day characterized by American loss and national grief.
But at the same time, 9/11 will forever be a day symbolizing American bravery, resilience, and unity.
Bravery of the men and women who ran towards the rubble to help their fellow Americans. Resilience of first responders who worked endless days and nights to keep New Yorkers safe and keep survivors alive. And unity of all Americans who joined together, as one nation, to support one another through unthinkable tragedy.
Today, I urge us all to come together again to mourn the lives of those lost in 9/11 and honor their legacies of the brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the lives of others. May we never forget them.
In solidarity with our brave American first responders and men and women in uniform,
Annette
