Dear John,
Today, we remember the horrific terrorist attacks that struck our country 21 years ago.
As we reflect on September 11, 2001 and the impact it has had on our country, let us remember the bravery of our first responders, the lives tragically lost, and the survivors and families whose lives were forever changed as a result of such atrocity.
In the aftermath of that tragic day, we came together, one nation struggling but united, and saw the best of humanity in response to the worst of humanity.
In these trying times, we must remember what is best about our country — liberty, equality, freedom — and must continue to rally around and strengthen these ideals. It is the best way for us to honor the heroism we saw and the lives lost on 9/11.
Sincerely,
Congressman Sanford D. Bishop
