In this season of hope, I am especially alarmed when I see the headlines every single day. The impacts of climate change are transforming our communities and jeopardizing our ways of life. We cannot wait to address these issues. We are on the front lines of the climate crisis.
2019 is the hottest year in Alaska’s recorded history, causing glaciers to melt and sea levels to rise. Fishermen are unable to fish because of mass die-offs from rising ocean temperatures, changing weather patterns are disrupting our wildlife’s habitats and food sources, and entire communities are being forced to relocate due to erosion and flooding.

Portage Lake, 1993 - back when the calving glacier left ice chunks in the lake in the summer.
Meanwhile, our representative doesn’t believe humans have contributed to climate change. How can Don Young work to find solutions for our communities if he refuses to even acknowledge the problem? [[link removed]]
It’s time for real, independent leadership to take on this crisis. We cannot give up hope for our state. Our children our counting on us. If you share our hope, please show your support by contributing to my campaign. [[link removed]]
Thank you,
