So why do Republican officials keep trying to take those rights away?
Friend,
Abortion rights are officially on the ballot in Michigan this November. The Michigan Supreme Court has ordered a proposal on the ballot that would enshrine abortion rights into the state constitution.
Michigan AG Dana Nessel has been fighting hard to make sure voters have their say and pushing back against Republicans’ attempts to derail the ballot initiative. Republicans are still attacking abortion access this year despite the fact that their beliefs are wildly unpopular with voters. They know that if voters have their say, Republicans and their radical anti-abortion policies would be soundly defeated.
Republicans will stop at nothing to attack abortion access, despite the fact that protecting abortion rights is clearly popular. Just last month, we saw how voters in a red state like Kansas showed up en masse to defeat a ballot initiative that would have removed the right to an abortion from the state constitution.
