Hi John –

I spent the afternoon scrolling through my camera roll with my daughter Violette. I had lots of photos from fishing trips over the years, and maybe even too many photos of some of my less-than-impressive catches.

Still, those memories are some of my family's happiest. Nothing beats heading out on the water and soaking in the beauty of Coastal Virginia with the people I love most.

Right now, I’m feeling especially grateful for my family. They’ve supported me through two challenging campaigns. They've bolstered my resolve to keep fighting despite the exorbitant spending by right-wing interest groups.

They've kept me focused on the reason I jumped into politics in the first place: because my daughter's generation deserves to inherit a free, safe, and prosperous future.
