Kevin McCarthy is scheduled to announce his new plan for the GOP’s “Commitment to America” next week. I read the preview of the plan, John, and every “commitment” the GOP wants to make is rooted in lies. Here's a quick breakdown:
CLAIM: Republicans want to build a stronger economy.
FACT: Not a single Republican in Congress voted for the bill that actually addressed inflation and lowered prescription drug costs.
CLAIM: McCarthy’s policies will make our nation safer.
FACT: Kevin McCarthy and his allies tried to block the American Rescue Plan which actually invested in local police.
CLAIM: McCarthy wants to “hold the government accountable.”
FACT: McCarthy wants to hold Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, and Democrats accountable while he and Donald Trump dodge investigations. It’s hypocritical, and we’ve had enough.
McCarthy's “plan” for our future is just the same recycled GOP talking points. He’s not interested in supporting the Central Valley and High Desert -- his mission is to maintain control and divide us even further.
