The Lord Mayor of Nottingham, Cllr Wendy Smith, will deliver a proclamation of the accession of His Majesty King Charles III
this Sunday at 2.00pm.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the proclamation where the Lord Mayor will be joined by Sir John Peace, the Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, the High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire, Paul Southby and other local dignatories.

The proclamation follows those made at St James' Palace, followed by readings in Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast.?The proclamation traditionally confirms by name the identity of the new sovereign to the throne and also sees flags flown at full-mast to proclaim the new monarch.?

Visitors to Old Market Square can also view the many flora tributes that have been left since
Friday morning. The tributes will remain in place until the day after Her Majesty The Queen's funeral.

A Book of Condolence is available in the Council House for people to sign. The Council House is open until 5.00pm on Saturday and again on Monday morning.

Nottingham?s Green Festival will still be taking place this Sunday.

As ever, the festival provides the place for everyone to learn, explore and try the latest in environmentally friendly and ethical in the beautiful setting of the Nottingham Arboretum.

The event runs from 12 noon until 6.00pm and is free to enter.

There will be numerous stalls featuring local small, green businesses, craft producers, food producers, voluntary and campaign groups.?Plus talented, local artists performing on the Arboretum bandstand.?

International Archery at Wollaton Park

The two major competitions will take place at Wollaton Park this week. In line with sport national governing body guidance, there will be a minute's silence on each day, with all athletes wearing black armbands.

The European Para Archery Cup finals will take place on Thursday 15 September and will see the best para archers from across Europe compete.

The 2022 National Tour Finals will take place on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 September and will see the UK's best recurve, compound and barebow archers shoot for the top spot on the podium.

It?s a great opportunity to come and watch top world-class UK and European, Paralympian and Olympic archers. You can either buy a grandstand ticket for the best view in the house or come and watch for free.?

Visitors can try their hand at the sport.
