Border Wall Visit, SpaceX and Women's Advisory Council Dear Texan, I had a busy week back home in Texas, so I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on what’s happening in the U.S. House and Texas’ 31st district. ON THE DOCKET: Touring SpaceX Visiting the Southern Border Wall Meeting with the Women’s Advisory Council THE BRIEF: A recent analysis by the nonpartisan Tax Foundation shows the Democrat’s Inflation Reduction Act could actually cut as many as 30,000 jobs in the midst of the Biden Recession. In July, at least 10 more suspects on the FBI’s Terrorist Screening Database were apprehended attempting to illegally cross our southern border. According to a new Ipsos poll, one in three Americans have reported trouble affording gas in Biden’s energy crisis. Congressman Carter tours SpaceX to see how they’re pushing the boundaries of space exploration. TOURING SPACEX I enjoyed touring SpaceX's Starbase and seeing the historic innovation taking place in Boca Chica. The monumental work done here has positive national security impacts, brings revenue to local businesses, and attracts highly skilled workers to Texas. I can’t wait to see how they continue to push the limits of space travel! Representative Carter visits the southern border wall. VISITING SOUTHERN BORDER WALL There are far-reaching consequences to President Biden's open border policies, and unfortunately, Texas is taking the brunt of it. Cartels are attempting to traffic drugs, people, and money into our country causing chaos at our southern border. I traveled to the border to review conditions, talk with border patrol officers about their needs, and see the issues firsthand. As the first member of Congress to support the border wall by securing $3 million in funds to begin construction, I recognize the importance of securing our southern border to take the power away from ruthless cartels. An unsecure and open border, like President Biden has cultivated, only empowers cartels to abuse and traffic individuals, and peddle drugs, guns and cash into our country. I want to hear from you! I’d love to hear from you so I can better represent you in Congress. Please take this survey to share what issues matter most to you and your family! Representative Carter speaks with a few members of his Women’s Advisory Council in Bell County. MEETING WITH THE WOMEN’S ADVISORY COUNCIL I recently sat down with a few members of my Women’s Advisory Council in Bell County to hear about the issues impacting their families. They shared many of the same concerns that I’m hearing as I travel across Texas’ 31st district - rising costs of housing and everyday goods, higher education costs, and expansion of the federal government into their personal lives. Republicans are committed to a future that is free for the American people. That means having a federal government that is accountable to the people, reclaiming congressional oversight, and preserving Americans’ rights under the Constitution. As always, thank you for taking the time to stay updated on what's happening in Texas' 31st congressional district. Follow my Facebook and Twitter accounts for more updates. It is an honor and privilege to represent you and Texas in the United States House. Sincerely, John R. Carter Visit our website!
