The Week in Review
Happy Friday!
I hope everyone had a great week. The House was not in session this week but I was still fighting hard to advance the interests of the Fifth District. From hosting a tele-town hall with thousands of constituents to condemning President Biden’s hostility towards Republicans, I hope you’ll read below to learn about the important happenings from the week:
21st Anniversary of 9/11
Sunday marks the 21st anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. On September 11, 2001, al-Qaida terrorists hijacked American commercial planes and crashed them into New York’s World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a rural area in Pennslyvania. Nearly 3,000 people died on that day, and thousands were injured.
These attacks shook our nation to its core and challenged our way of life and our sense of security. We are now a generation removed from these attacks, but we still remember that horrific event.
Our work has not ended. We must never forget the victims, the acts of heroism, nor the solidarity that brought us together. Americans stood united after 9/11, and we stand united for freedom today.
Let us honor our police officers, firefighters, and paramedics for the thankless work they perform in our neighborhoods.
Together, we can honor their memories and do our parts to unite this great country once again.
Queen Elizabeth II Passing
Yesterday, United Kingdom Queen Elizabeth II passed away at the age of 96. My condolences go out to the family and loved ones of the Queen. We will remember her as a steady and dignified leader who helped strengthen the relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom.
Queen Elizabeth II dedicated her entire life to advance the interests of her country and symbolized British tradition.
May she rest in peace.
Gateway Airport Discussions
Thanks to CEO Brian O'Neill and Ryan Smith for visiting my office this week to discuss the future of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.
The new Gateway Airport ATC tower will be a game changer for our East Valley economy.
I was honored to have worked with my colleagues in Arizona's Congressional delegation to help bring this project to fruition.

Tele-Town Hall Recap
Yesterday, I hosted a tele-town hall with several thousand constituents. I discussed the fiscal implications of President Biden's $1 trillion student loan bailout plan, my recent trip to the Arizona-Mexico border with my congressional colleagues, priorities for the House of Representatives come January, and answered a wide range of questions from constituents.
I’d like to thank all who joined me last night. It is always a pleasure to hear from you all and respond to your insightful questions.

What’s the Biggs Idea? Podcast w/ Stephen Miller
This week, America First Legal’s Stephen Miller joined me on my podcast “What’s the Biggs Idea?”.
Stephen Miller is president and founder of America First Legal and is the former senior advisor to President Donald Trump. We discussed President Biden’s reckless $1 trillion student debt bailout plan, President Biden’s anti-Republican speech in Pennsylvania, and the negative consequences of green energy policies.
We’ll be posting more episodes soon. Check out our social media pages for updates.

Top Media Appearances of the Week
I joined Fox News’ Molly Line to react to Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s complaints regarding Texas and Arizona’s busing of illegal aliens to her city despite Chicago implementing sanctuary city policies. Click below to watch some of the segment.
I joined Newsmax’s Tom Basile to speak on the legacy of Queen Elizabeth II and her impact on the United States, the United Kingdom, and the rest of the world. Click below to watch some of the segment.
I joined KFYI-AM (Phoenix, AZ)’s Russell & Hunter to discuss California’s overbearing climate change-related mandates. The state is facing energy blackouts due to its reduction in fossil fuels and heavy reliance on green energy. Click below to hear some of the segment.
Top Op-Ed of the Week
I wrote a column for the Washington Times arguing why Republicans must be disciplined enough to not be distracted by President Joe Biden’s divisive anti-Republican speech in Pennsylvania last week.
The goal of Biden’s speech, in my mind, was for Democrats to distract Americans from the nation’s persistent inflation, the disastrous results of the Democrats’ open border policies, and record-setting crime rates.
Joe Biden continues to openly dehumanize and antagonize his political opponents, but it is a ploy. It is a political trap to draw us into discussing the outrageous statements he and his incompetent press team put out daily—instead of his regime’s devastating policies.

Definition of the Week
This week, California imposed a series of draconian green energy mandates as the state faced a major heat wave and blackouts were anticipated. Since California has begun to phase out fossil fuels, it has become overdependent on green energy and relies heavily on solar and wind power.
The energy demand in the state exceeds the output green energy provides. But the state won’t admit that. Instead, they imposed mandates this week where residents can only keep their thermostats at 78 degrees or above (wow, that’s hot!), at designated times set by the government, and restricted residents from using everyday household appliances.
This type of government control has no place in America and further illustrates the ineffectiveness of heavily relying on green energy.
Inspired by the Democrats’ overstated effectiveness of green energy policies, here’s the definition of the week:
Green energy policies (NOUN): Unsustainable energy policies that may meet the demands of woke, climate change activist groups but overall negatively impact the livelihoods of Americans.
