John,
Last night, a gunman shot and injured two more young people in Uvalde, TX
-- at a memorial for the 21 people who were shot and killed just a mile
away at Robb Elementary School in May.
My name is Greg Casar. With the PCCC's support, I won my primary in the
Democratic-leaning Texas 35th Congressional District -- and I’m ready to
fight for gun reform that will save lives when I’m sworn into Congress in
January.
But today, I am asking for your help electing my friend Beto O’Rourke to
replace Republican Governor Greg Abbott. Beto is absolutely fearless in
taking on the NRA and the gun lobby.
As Governor, Greg Abbott’s response to mass shootings was to make it even
easier to get guns in Texas, where you can openly carry and buy guns
without a permit. In the 15 weeks since the school massacre in Uvalde,
Abbott has done nothing to stop gun violence.

send Greg Abbott packing.
Gun violence is now the leading cause of death among children and teens in
Texas. Inaction won’t keep our kids safe; only action will.
The 21 families in Uvalde have told us how to reduce gun violence, and now
we need to follow their lead. It’s going to take decisive action at both
the federal and state level. I know we can work together to fund common
sense gun violence intervention programs, pass universal background
checks, end permitless carry, raise the minimum age to purchase a firearm,
and so much more to protect our communities.
Beto is within just a few points of Abbott in the latest polls -- with a
20 point lead among millennial and Gen-Z voters.
With the help of PCCC members and other grassroots supporters across Texas
and the nation, I won my campaign with people power. Now, we need to help
Beto do the same.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
-- Greg Casar, Democratic nominee for Congress in Texas’ 35th
Congressional District
