We're letting AZ voters know about MAGA Republicans' radical "education" agenda Indivisibles,
We've got some exciting news: we're rolling out a new ad in Arizona! If you haven't heard, Republicans expanded Arizona's school voucher program, and now Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk is starting his own schools to give kids a unique, world-class education in racist, homophobic, and far-right ideology -- and he’ll do it on the taxpayer’s dime. Charlie's opening the doors to his first school this year and we thought we'd let Arizona parents know with a special ad.
You can check it out below and read more about why we’re taking on this fight, but first we’ve got an ask: It’s costing us thousands of dollars to make and promote this ad, and we want to share it with as many Arizona voters as possible -- but we can’t do that without your help. Click here to watch the ad now, and donate $10 to help us share it across Arizona and support all of our crucial election work this year.
Our friends at Save our Schools Arizona are gathering signatures to put the voucher expansion up for a referendum in 2024, while working hard to elect pro-public school candidates in November. Meanwhile, we’re teaming up with local Indivisible groups to make sure every voter knows about MAGA Republicans’ extreme plan to “educate” our kids.
As many of you already know, school voucher programs are no good. They increase inequality and discrimination while ultimately not improving student achievement. Voucher programs sap money away from already-underfunded public schools and funnel it into private schools with minimal transparency or accountability (because the last thing you’d want in a school run by Charlie Kirk is transparency or accountability).
Despite Arizona families calling for more public education funding, Republicans have again passed a voucher expansion law that could end up costing public schools hundreds of millions of dollars. Their end-game is replacing a public system with a private, for-profit system -- one that allows wealthy, conservative interest groups to profit off of indoctrination.
Here’s the silver lining: this law is wildly unpopular. Last time Arizona Republicans tried to expand vouchers in 2017, public school advocates put the issue up for a referendum and 65% of voters opposed the expansion. Despite the public’s clear opposition, every Republican in Arizona has lined up behind this new voucher law including gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake and Senate candidate Blake Masters. We’re going to make sure they pay a price for it at the ballot box.
Our new ad is just the beginning, and we need your help to get it in front of as many Arizona voters as possible. We're putting this ad online to reach key voters, and we need to fundraise as much as we can now to pay for all the spots we want to line up. Can you chip in $10 today to help fund our ad in Arizona and all of Indivisible’s work to defeat MAGA extremism in November?

This isn’t just an issue for people in Arizona -- GOP legislators in other states are starting to look at Arizona as a model and Republicans in Congress have already introduced a bill to support voucher programs on a national scale. We’re not going to take this sitting down.
We’ll continue working with local Indivisible groups to put a spotlight on the GOP’s radical “education” agenda -- from the book bans, to laws targeting LGBTQ+ kids, to censoring teachers, and now their ridiculous scheme to replace public schools with Turning Point Academies. We’ll keep you updated on our work in Arizona and as always, thank you for being in this fight with us.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
