The "Anything Goes" abortion amendment, now known as Proposal 3, will appear on the ballot for all Michigan citizens this November. After a deadlock vote from the Board of State Canvassers initially held it back (due to over 50 typos), the Michigan Supreme Court voted 5-2 on Thursday to push it through anyways. Now, the real battle for life begins. We ask you to pray together with us that hearts and minds will be turned to truth this November and we will see the defeat of this deadly proposal. CTV is partnered with Citizens to Support MI Women and Children, a coalition formed to bring awareness to the dangers of Proposal 3 and stop this radical alteration to Michigan's Constitution. Click here to learn more. Did you know? This amendment would repeal Michigan's partial-birth and late-term abortion bans. It would also allow minors to get abortions without parental consent. This goes much further than any previous pro-abortion law or policy, allowing for unrestricted abortion access and erasing the role of parents in their children's lives. Proposal 3 must be stopped if we are to save the lives of tens of thousands of children every year in Michigan. Michigan's 1931 Abortion Ban Struck Down by Court of Claims Michigan Court of Claims judge, Elizabeth Gleicher, has issued a permanent injunction declaring Michigan's 1931 ban on abortion to be unconstitutional. She claimed it violates a person's right to bodily integrity, despite the tragic reality that the act of abortion claims the life of a unique human being with the same right to bodily integrity. Enforcement of this law has been blocked since May thanks to temporary injunctions, but this is the first official ruling that the law conflicts with Michigan's Constitution. This decision could still be brought to the Court of Appeals and eventually the Michigan Supreme Court, but for now, abortion is effectively legal in Michigan. The bill in question, H.R. 8404, has already passed the House and needs 60 votes in the Senate. This legislation could have devastating effects on churches, adoption ministries, and other religious institutions. Federal funding might be pulled, or nonprofit status removed, for businesses that refuse to recognize same-sex marriage. Click here to read more about this story. Court Rules in Favor of Christian Adoption Agency A federal district court has ruled in favor of New Hope Family Services, a Christian adoption agency that prioritizes placing children in homes with a married mother and father. The ministry was under fire from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services for their policy. This is a victory for religious freedom! Click here to read more about this story.
