[1]Cheri Beasley for North Carolina

Team - It’s Travis, Cheri’s campaign manager.

I made a tough decision in our budget meeting this morning, and I wanted to let you know myself.

This week, as you may know, McConnell’s super PAC went on the air with an attack ad against Cheri. The first ad in a nearly $30 million buy. Their spending could go up, and the viciousness of the attacks will almost certainly get worse.

So after talking it through with Cheri and our team, we agreed that we needed to up our spending on some of our advertising and organizing efforts sooner than we’d planned. Even though the money wasn’t in the budget, I gave the green light.

Look, we cannot delay setting the record straight and let Republican super PACs control the narrative. We need to make sure voters know the truth now.

This unexpected spending increase created a hole in our budget. But Cheri said we should make the bet that if we reached out and told you the truth about why this was so important that our grassroots supporters would come through to keep us on the path to victory.

What do you say? Sound worth it to flip this seat?

If so, please make a contribution today to help us fill our budget gap and flip North Carolina. Every dollar is being put to work immediately to reach the voters that we need to win.

Make no mistake: This was a tough call. It’s a decision that carries a real risk, but Cheri knows we need to throw out the old, failed playbook and run to win.

Thanks for pitching in and putting us one step closer to flipping this seat!
