Good evening, John,
On Sunday I wrote a letter to newspapers across the state.
In it, I explained that when I was elected, I knew that my job would require compromise. While we might have differences on policy, I thought state Republicans would be willing to work with me on bipartisan actions to make North Carolina better for everyone.
Instead of compromising, State Republicans sent me a budget full of corporate tax cuts that would have made it impossible to properly fund public education in our state.
It's clear that our work is far from done, John.
Our end-of-year fundraising deadline is quickly approaching and Republicans are eager to find any sign of weakness.
We can't afford to fall short at the finish line, John. Will you chip $25 (or whatever you can afford) to help us finish the year strong?

As I've watched this campaign grow, I'm constantly reminded that we're fighting for a stronger North Carolina not just against political boogeymen.
We've taken action, spoken up, and stood our ground.
John, we're in this together. I'm hoping that you'll commit to staying in the fight to get the job done. Any amount you can afford to contribute as a founding donor today - even $1 - goes a long way >>

Together, we can keep North Carolina on the path to progress, and out of the hands of extremist politicians.
Thank you,
Roy
