2030 Census: Provide Feedback by November 15 [ [link removed] ]
*Planning for the 2030 Census is underway.* The *Early Planning Phase* began in October 2018. This phase builds the foundation for the 2030 Census. For 3 years, the Census Bureau examined the 2020 Census operation to assess potential enhancements for the next decennial count.
We are currently in the *Design Selection Phase*. This phase includes research, testing, and operational planning and design work to inform the selection of the initial 2030 Census operational design—the big picture plan for conducting the census.
The *Final Planning Phase* is scheduled to start in 2025. After the initial operational design is developed, we will continue to develop detailed operational plans and conduct tests as needed to ensure the census produces quality, useful information for the nation.
How You Can Provide Feedback
On August 17th, the Census Bureau formally invited the public to share their input and ideas for an improved 2030 Census. Your comments and recommendations are key for planning and designing the next census. We will use this input to inform our decisions on the 2030 Census operational design.

Here are some questions to think about when providing feedback:
* How can the Census Bureau more effectively reach everyone, especially historically undercounted populations such as the Hispanic or Latino population, the Black or African American population, the American Indian or Alaska Native population living on a reservation, people who reported being of Some Other Race, and young children?
* What tools and messages should the Census Bureau use to invite people to respond to the census - especially historically undercounted populations?
* What technology could make responding to the census more user-friendly?
* What technology could further enhance the Census Bureau's efforts to increase self-response and facilitate collecting data in person, when necessary?
*?? Did You Know?* The Census Bureau is doing a deep dive on 2020 Census Data Quality [ [link removed] ]. This involves evaluating operational quality metrics [ [link removed] ], analyzing the results of the 2020 Demographic Analysis [ [link removed] ] and Post-Enumeration Survey [ [link removed] ], thoroughly reviewing census operations [ [link removed] ], and asking outside experts to independently review our work.
