Friend — I’ve got great news.
The House has adopted my bipartisan legislation to help tackle the addiction crisis affecting every community in our nation. The legislation is straightforward – it requires that medical professionals who prescribe highly addictive medications be trained to spot the signs of addiction and advise patients on treatment.

Congress has dragged its feet on dealing with the addiction crisis for years, but this bipartisan bill would finally start moving us in the right direction if it passes the Senate. While the opioid epidemic has plagued Americans all over the country, it has been particularly deadly in Massachusetts. In 2020, more than 2,000 people in Massachusetts died from overdose – more than ever before.
This issue clearly hits close to home. It's critical that Congress continues to make headway on addressing this crisis. If you want to see more bills like this passed, chip in to support my re-election campaign so I can keep fighting for our community and ensure that everyone suffering from addiction has the resources and help they need to recover.
