A Just Transition = Indigenous Self-Determination

Transition is inevitable. Justice is not.

The push for a sustainable transition predominantly centers “green” technologies that continue to threaten the self-determination and sovereignty of Indigenous peoples worldwide. Instead, a just future depends on centering Indigenous-led, place-based climate solutions and supporting intersectional efforts to guarantee the rights of all people.

Join the Securing Indigenous Peoples’ Rights in the Green Economy (SIRGE) Coalition and A Growing Culture during the NYC Climate Week to learn about how Indigenous and peasant leaders are taking action to hold companies accountable to human rights commitments through the supply chain.

Performances by Pavel Sulyandziga Jr. (Udege)
Refreshments will be served.

THIS IS A HYBRID EVENT: In-person (space is limited) and virtual.
Translation into Spanish will be available via zoom.
