Since I last wrote, I've attended over 50 different political events focusing primarily on actions that relate to the climate emergency and to immigrant rights. I have also been connecting with people all over Colorado and have been incredibly honored to receive some amazing endorsements, including one today from 350 Colorado Action - their Stamp of Approval Endorsement.
I have also been watching the impeachment hearings which makes me remember my parents running out to grab the Washington Post during the Watergate hearings. This feels more threatening. Will we unravel into a dictatorship or will we be able to maintain our democracy? I have been predicting for some time that Trump would not finish his term and I am still a believer that this is the case. We will soon see.
With regard to the climate crisis, it feels very personal to me at the moment. In Queensland and in Sydney, where my husband's family lives, friends and family are impacted by bushfires.
Yet, I am hopeful and if nothing else, I believe that hope needs to be protected no matter what.
