Hope amid tragedy: A reflection on PIH’s earthquake response in Haiti

In August 2021, a 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck in Haiti’s south, leaving more than 2,200 people dead, 1,800 injured, and hundreds of families displaced. Amidst this tragedy was also a robust response focused not only on immediate care, but also on long-term investment in the country’s health system.
