THE WEEK'S BIG 3
ADL launched a widely covered report “The Oath Keepers Data Leak: Unmasking Extremism in Public Life,” an interactive map and analysis displaying the number of Oath Keepers by state and positions held within elected offices, law enforcement, first responders, and the military. KiwiFarms, a fringe online forum known for its history of harassment targeting trans people and hosting hateful content, was temporarily shut down after the security and hosting provider Cloudflare blocked it from using its services on Saturday. California lawmakers on Tuesday sent Gov. Gavin Newsom two ADL-supported groundbreaking bills requiring social media companies to make public their policies for
removing hateful and harassing and take other steps to protect users from harm.
Read on for more on these headlines, news you can use to fight hate and the latest info about ADL from around the country.

Notorious Hate Site Pulled by Cloudflare
“Cloudflare, a web infrastructure company, pulled its services from Kiwi Farms, a notorious hate site, on Saturday afternoon, just days after publishing a statement suggesting that it would not do so. The move came after mounting pressure from a social media campaign directed at Cloudflare, led by a trans woman who was harassed and swatted after her personal information was posted on the website and an NBC News report discussed her experience and Kiwi Farms’ long history of fomenting harassment and abuse.” Buzzfeed News:

California Lawmakers OK Bills Aimed at Social Media Content
“California lawmakers on Tuesday sent Gov. Gavin Newsom two groundbreaking bills intended to limit the downside of social media, as they faulted Congress for failing to act on the problem. A first-of-its kind measure would require social media companies to make public their policies for removing disturbing content and provide details on how and when they remove it.” Associated Press:

Jonathan Greenblatt: That a member of Congress would consider this funny, let alone acceptable is disgraceful. With one post and a doctored video, @RepMTG managed to trivialize Hitler and the Nazis’ sheer evil and belittle the serious threat that extremism poses to this country. Absolutely shameful.
