Democrats, As we face unprecedented times, Republican legislators and the GOP are mobilizing quickly and strategically in support of restrictive voter suppression laws that disproportionately target voters of color and voters with disabilities. Now more than ever, we must defend the fundamental right to vote. The California Democratic Party leads the nation’s largest Voter Protection effort, composed of attorneys, poll workers, and dedicated Californians who all work to make voting easier and more inclusive. As a volunteer with CADEM’s Voter Protection Team you have the choice to become a Voter Protection Resource Hotline Operator (remote around the state) or Poll Monitor (in-person). Having a strong, diverse team of volunteers who can answer questions and offer assistance is essential to making sure every single Californian can cast their ballot with confidence. Calling all bilingual Californians! Our voter protection team aims to assist and defend the rights of ALL Californians. To that end, it is important our Voter Protection Team is able to field questions & offer assistance in multiple languages. If you are bilingual or multilingual, your support as a volunteer will go a long way! Read more about becoming a Resource Hotline Operator (remote around the state): CADEM Hotline Operators will assist voters calling in with voter-related questions & troubleshoot election based issues through a Nation Voter Protection reporting system. No prior experience is necessary. The hotline will be fully operational with volunteer operators who will be answering calls remotely from all over the country beginning Monday, October 17, 2022, to the Election, Tuesday, November 8, 2022, until the polls have closed! Read more about becoming a Poll Monitor (in-person): Poll monitors will check polling locations around the state, to ensure that all voters have equal access to the ballot.
