Hi John,

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris ran on the strongest gun safety platform in history, signalling a new era in the fight against gun violence. In his first six Last week, President Biden renewed his pledge to reinstate the federal assault weapons ban. “We have to act for all those kids gunned down on our streets every single day that never make the news,” he said. “You have to act so our kids can learn to read in school instead of learning to duck and cover.”

The Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which Biden signed earlier this summer, was the first major gun safety legislation in almost 30 years. It represents a huge step forward but still falls short of the comprehensive action needed to address the gun violence epidemic. We are committed to keeping the pressure on the administration to follow through on their promise to take additional action to address gun violence. We can’t let this opportunity for more meaningful federal action pass us by.

Right now, we’re working on our federal advocacy strategy and we want to hear from top supporters like you. Take our quick survey to let us know what federal gun safety action you think is most urgent. [link removed]

Looking forward to learning from you,
Dylan (he/him)
