As Colorado Attorney General, I know firsthand that our state is stronger when we work together to solve problems, regardless of party affiliation.
In my first term, we worked hard to listen to a range of views and win bipartisan support for our work. Every legislative agenda bill we pushed, for example, achieved bipartisan support. That included working together with sheriffs and police chiefs from around the state to work on responsible gun safety laws and safe gun storage. It also meant bringing together Democrats and Republicans to develop the opioid settlement framework that will invest the $500 million we recovered for Colorado communities. And it meant partnering with Republican state senators to protect water in our rural communities.
Today, I’m humbled and honored to announce the support of prominent Independent, Republican, and conservative leaders from across our state in my re-election bid. You can read their thoughts here. For me, defending the rule of law and protecting all of the people of Colorado is my true north.
