One step forward, two steps back.
Earlier this month the Trump administration announced that it’s putting a bee-killing pesticide, sulfoxaflor, back on the market.
With the help of supporters like you, Earthjustice and our partners fought for years to get this pesticide off the market. In 2015 the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in our favor, saying the pesticide was approved without proper studies regarding its impact on honeybee colonies.
This announcement came just days after President Trump was touting his environmental record and less than a week after his administration’s decision to defund the annual survey on honeybees.
At a time when honeybees and other pollinators are dying in greater numbers than ever before, Trump’s decision is shortsighted and reckless.
Scientists have long said that pesticides like sulfoxaflor are the cause of honeybee colony collapse disorder. Letting sulfoxaflor back on the market is dangerous for our food systems, economy, and environment.
We have fought back against these kinds of attacks before. With you by our side, we will keep working to protect imperiled honeybee populations.
I understand this news is discouraging but I want you to know that Earthjustice is not giving up—we are in this fight for the long haul.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
