Dear Team Nika,
Thank you so much for your passion and commitment to justice and to Team Nika. You may have heard by now that, though we ran an amazing campaign full of integrity, focus, love and vision we did not prevail. Rep Liz Miranda won 33%, we followed at 27% with Dianne Wilkerson and Miniard Culpepper coming in 3rd and 4th respectively.
I made a concession speech late last night at our victory party. The victory we celebrated was different than we'd hoped but no less important and special to me. Our victory is US and this incredible team we built!

I could not be prouder of each of you and am honored to be part of this community and the ongoing movement we've inspired and continue to inspire! I hope you are getting some much needed rest today or at least this evening if you had to work.
I just put my parents on a plane  ! I am so grateful that my family got to be part of this incredible team, and especially to meet many of you and be inspired by your passion.
Thank you again! We are truly a SUPER team and will always be so in my eyes!
