Poll worker application deadlines are fast approaching, and election officials have begun hosting poll worker trainings in many areas. We know that early applications matter—both to inform the number of polling places open for early voting and Election Day, and to increase the likelihood of getting selected as a poll worker.

If you're on the fence about whether or not to become a poll worker, now is the time to submit your application and begin the process. You can always change your mind down the road.

Election deniers are actively recruiting poll workers. We need pro-democracy workers now more than ever. Help protect our democracy by signing up today.

Read more about why we're working with Power the Polls to address the nation's poll worker shortage below.
Jack, this upcoming election is a very important one. We have the opportunity–the duty, really–to defeat the extremists trying to rig our elections and strip away even more of our rights and freedoms.

Part of the work of defending our eroding freedoms is ensuring that people understand what's on their ballot, as well as how, when and where to vote; have access to a polling site near them, and receive whatever accommodation they need in order to make their choices clear and their voices heard.

Poll workers are unsung heroes whose presence we likely take for granted. However, they are crucial to our democracy and the smooth operation of our elections. This year, I have committed to staffing a polling site in my city because of the national poll worker shortage, and I urge you to join me.

For me, this election is about holding back the tide of extremists chipping away at hard-won civil and human rights. I'm increasingly concerned about how extremists are abusing our legislative bodies to want to police, criminalize, and jail us. It is not criminal to love my partner in public, grow (or not grow) our family as we see fit, or support LGBTQ kids as they explore and grow into their identities.

I refuse to allow treasonous efforts to overturn elections, suppress votes, and intimidate voters to silence me, or accept these attacks on marginalized people. In our democracy, everyone who chooses to line up and cast their votes must be able to do so with adequate staffing, information, and assistance. The GOP has spent tons of time and money to make it increasingly difficult to vote, but we cannot let them win this fight.
